Just before the COVID pandemic began, the I Will Projects funded an opportunity for nursing students at a community college and a 4-year university to receive nine weeks of customized intensive hospice and palliative care education. The lessons are designed to supplement and enrich current nursing curricula to meet the needs of the aging population and chronically ill in the US.
Our program follows the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) guidelines. ELNEC was created at City of Hope in Los Angeles, California and is approved by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).
